Brit Conner - Member of the Board, Neural Systems Corporation
Brit Conner is Director of Business Development at Snap Track, now a part of Qualcomm. Snap Track developed Assisted-GPS, now the world standard in wide area position location, and used in over 100 million cellular phones worldwide. In his role, Mr. Conner is responsible for evangelizing and building the asset tag industry, believed to be the ne3xt big opportunity for A-GPS.
Previously, Mr. Conner was Executive Vice-President of Datacast, a data broadcasting service owned by four of the country's leading group television broadcasters. Datacast was formed by the purchase of Digideck, Inc. for the use of its novel broadcasting technology, which could transmit over 500 kbps while hidden within the existing analog television signal. Mr. Conner was President and CEO of Digideck, which had been using the technique on cable signals, rather than over-the-air. Datacast was instrumental in developing the technology for over-air broadcast use.
Prior to Digideck, Mr. Conner was Executive Vice President and General Manager of Xebec Development Partners, where he oversaw Xebec's R&D operations, and its M&A activities. Xebec was the country's leading vendor of controller cards for hard disk drives used on personal computers, and under Mr. Conner developed the first internal drive electronics (IDE) disk drive. Prior to this, Mr. Conner was VP & GM of Precision Echo, a specialty manufacturer of video and wideband tape and disk recorders.
Mr. Conner has a BA and BSEE from Rice University, an MSEE from U. C. Berkeley, and an MS in Engineering Management from Stanford University.
